Check out the 2016 game teaser above from BEST, Inc. to get a taste of what this year's game is about.

2016 Game: Bet the Farm

Mr. Riley Bread and family, owners of BLT Farms, Inc., have been farming for the past 155 years. This year, they are looking to implement some of the recent developments in robotic technology in order to run the farm more efficiently. However, options abound, and the family is overwhelmed. They've teamed up with BEST Robotics, Inc. and are seeking input from companies.

GEARS, Inc. has worked long and hard to produce a robot capable of meeting the needs of BLT Farms, Inc.
They will compete against other companies at the 2016 War Eagle BEST Competition on October 8th.

Tasks

Restrictions

BLT Farms, Inc. is busy and Mr. Bread would like to have robots that could handle a number of farm tasks. These include:
  • Corralling the farm pigs and feeding them.
  • Regulating the flow of water to the crop irrigation system.
  • Planting, harvesting, and delivering corn.
  • Harvesting and delivering tomatoes and lettuce from the farm's new hydroponic stand.
GEARS, Inc. has to take several restrictions into consideration during the design and construction of the robot:
  • The robot must be built using only the materials provided.
  • The robot must be able to fit into a 24" x 24" x 24" cube in the smallest position.
  • The robot must weigh less than 24 lbs.

Detailed Rules

In order to ensure that all company members understood the requirements of the game, GEARS members were required to read the generic and specific game rules and take a test on these rules after Kickoff.
